About Brontë Ever After

An introduction to Brontë Ever After, by Garett Wilde and Anna Violet

Have you found your way here? Did we see your shadow move past our window; hear your boots crunch the snow beyond?

It’s cold tonight. You’re welcome to come in, and to share this moment with us.

We write from a place made of memories, where the silence is never empty. We’ve been here long enough now to know the moods of this land. Literature here refuses to remain on the page.

The hills beyond, they don’t just inspire stories, they require them. This is where we have chosen to live out our own love story.  Here, we are immersed in the landscape that is Wuthering Heights, and every night we walk with the ghosts of Haworth in the mists of folklore; with tales that have a will of their own to be know and retold.

Perhaps that is why they find us?

They sense the longing in us; the desires we have sought to satisfy by coming here, but which have only been heightened; hence the words you are reading now… as we write for those who believe that some books can only be understood by standing where they were first inspired.

We sense that you understand that connection, otherwise you wouldn’t have read so far into our missive, especially when there is so much more to bewitch you. You’re drawn to literature for the longing, like us. You find beauty in the bleakness of the moors.

Yes, I think you were meant to come here. And I hope you will stay, at least a little while…
